Well,I think American Dream is nonexistent on metaphorical way, which is in fact regarded as a symbol of their spirit.As people in America were try to working hard and wanna achieve the goals that they think the only way to complete it is do the plan of American Dream in legal way,therefore they have to be responsible for their behavior.The essential of American Dream is that a few people can achieve the basic element of American people,Such as the people who were living in 740 park avenue.For The Great Gatsby,there is a typical character,Gatsby,who make a living and to be more rich in illegal way.we can figure out the connection of basic element between Gatsby and American Dream.Gatsby play a key role who are dishonest and the typical people of ‘new money’.They are similar in some way,while they are not same on the other hand.American Dream is related to money directly,it cause less people can effect the hierarchy of government.Actually,Gatsby has great success in some area,and his mind-he think the enjoy of Spirit is much more important than pursuit of interests in real life,it is really infrequent at that time when everyone is chasing more profit with blind eye,While it also cause his fall down.By the way,it looks like every events are unavoidable when he fell in love with Daisy.
