Hongjian Lyu Rick Part 1
From my perspective, American Dreams contains upper
class states, political powers and ownership. At contemporary society, though
the American Dream becomes more and more materialistic, it is still a dream that
people will pursue. In my opinion, no matter the American Dream can be achieved
or not, it gives people who wants to be success purpose to fight for and also
encourage them, give them confidence. As the movie says: "Money can buy everything in American ", money can help people gain political power and social states. For
example, accepting the campaign money from rich people affects the laws and the
government which will prefer to protect rich people’s rights. The movie compares monopoly with American Dream, we need luck plus skills to success.
However, the rule is fair and everyone has equal opportunity, there’re
still a large group of people have an unfair start which means there's no opportunity for them
even though they work very hard. I agree with the opinion in the movie, American
Dream is not fair to everyone and only few people can achieve it, but the
American Dreams is still positive, it shows hope and purpose of life.
