Geyuchun Steven (absurd equality)

In my opinion, American dream is an extremely ideal target and an impossible dream for American to achieve. It is really tough for American to get absolute equal opportunities to pursue happiness and wealth because it is a country which is manipulated by the rich and powerful people. In current days, American dream has become more about wealth and the dream itself is an ideal thing that is hard to achieve now. As we can learn from the film"Park Avenue", it is a game controlled by the top richest men and they have the ability to use their wealth to get political power or change political policies. In that case, poor people are born with fewer opportunities and less right which is unfair in the society. The opportunity cost the poor should pay to get success is significantly higher than the rich and they may undertake more risks because they do not have the strong foundation. Therefore, there is no equal chance for them to reach the same level as those rich men.For example, since 2003, Bush signed the tax cut law, the rich people get more and more power and wealth which is unfair for those middle class and bottom people. the gap between and two and bottom increases year by year. What is more, the job market is intensive recently and it is difficult to survive in the competition. The job vacancy is limited and those who receive only high school education cannot even fund a skillful job. It becomes necessary for people to enter the college or university which can also be operated by the wealthy people. Therefore, in current condition, it is illusion to achieve equal opportunities for every one based on the social situation which is monopolized by the money and power.
