False equality(lu hao )casper part 2

In my opinionAmerican dream is just a goal for the citizenssome people think the great marriage is American dream for thembut the rich want to become richer also is one of the part of America dreamand the government tell the poor if they hard work and they can become new money but it is the less part of citizen can do this and they all do the illegal work to get moneyFor example Gatsby is the type of that peoplehe is a new money in this societyHe sell the illegal drug to earn the money that let him become the richand he know the America dream is dishonest things but he work very hard to earn the money even the trade is illegalHowever the America dream change his mind he start to believe money can do everything that is why he conduct the party every week just want Daisy and cost lots of money that to hope Daisy can forget the past thingsbut Daisy does not love Gatsby and she also dislike west eggGatsby uses his hard work to earn the money it give him a good future but he cannot use money to change his pasthe sends a man that is east egg s people to the jailAs i say the America dream tell us the equality and in the great Gatsby Daisy also represent Gatsbys America dream but Gatsby tried the everything that he can do for Daisy and she also refuse GatsbySo we can know the truth is the America dream was not equal to everyone and the truth is the America dream was the rule for the poor

  1. I totally disagree with your opinion. You said government tell the poor if they work hard, they will become new money and a part of poor people can be rich if they do illegal things like selling drugs or alcohol. Firstly, I don’t think that American Dream is attainable at all and American Dream is to everyone not the poor. As you said Daisy means American Dream to Gatsby, so American Dream is not about money or marriage, I think it’s about happiness. In the book “The Great Gatsby”, Gatsby tried his best to earn Daisy back but failed. The key point is that he believes money can buy everything, so he earn lots of money and tried to “buy” Daisy to realize his American Dream. So I think the things that matter is how Gatsby failed pursue Daisy shows the dishonest of American Dream not earn his money by illegal ways.
Also, from my perspective, the opinion is one-sided, American Dream is not only about marriage and money and different people definitely have different American Dream. For the conclusion part, you said: “So we can know the truth is the America dream was not equal to everyone and the truth is the America dream was the rule for the poor.” I also disagree with this part. The concept of American Dream should be: “In American, everyone has the right to happiness and they have equal opportunity to achieve that.” I suggest that you can focus on liberty and equality to analyze the dishonest of American Dream like what I did to make the point of view more persuasive.
